We need your help! Become a supporter of our new project about primates and prayer

Call for Submissions

EmSpace Dance invites visual artists to submit work on the themes of PRIMATES and PRAYER for an exhibit in conjunction with our performance piece, Monkey Gone to Heaven. The piece considers primates and prayer, and how we use both to think about and understand being human. Artworks that address either theme separately, or both together are encouraged.

Selected works will be displayed in the lobby gallery of CounterPULSE in San Francisco for the month of September, 2013. Please send jpgs of your submissions by June 19th to primateprayer@gmail.com.

Want to make something brand new? Send us 3 work samples and a short paragraph describing the proposed work.

Participants will be notified of their acceptance by July 10. While we love video, we aren't accepting video submissions unless your installation includes the material to screen it.

EmSpace Dance makes dance-theater and videos inspired by the intimate gestures of day-to-day life. We're a little bit obsessed with relationships - the ones between people, but also between people and their environments, and between art forms. We endeavor to make work that is intricately crafted, emotionally resonant and intellectually satisfying. The company is based in San Francisco and directed by Erin Mei-Ling Stuart
